I just did a bunch of looking up and reading about this. Requesting apps to not track you or turning off entirely in the Settings app turns off your ID for tracking, but I also read that tracking can still be done with fingerprinting.
On the web, fingerprinting is where your device gets a unique identifier from a website, derived from lots of bits of information like user agent, screen resolution, OS, etc, what bits of information on iOS can be used to track you? How do apps like Facebook do it? Hardware and OS information is homogeneous on Apple devices, each iPhone of a specific iPhone model has the same / similar info.
