Apple today seeded the second beta of an upcoming macOS 14.6 update to public beta testers, allowing non-developers to test the software ahead of its launch. Today's public beta comes two weeks after Apple released the first public beta.

Beta testers can opt-in through the Software Update section of the System Settings app. Under Beta updates, simply toggle on the Sonoma Public Beta. Note that you must sign up to participate on Apple's beta testing website.

No new Mac features were found in the macOS Sonoma 14.6 developer betas, so it is not clear what might be included. With Apple now working on macOS Sequoia, development on macOS Sonoma is beginning to wrap up so it's likely a bug fix update.

Yesterday apart from the developer ota updates only the ipsw for sonoma was out but now the full installers for all of them are out too.

The ventura one is still version 13.6.7 despite it already released on May 13.

Well for 13.6.7 rc 6 build 22G807 released on June 17, one might have thought apple made a mistake and it should have been version 13.6.8.

They have had plenty of time to correct it if it was a mistake.

So there are 2 scenarios

1. Apple made the mistake twice

2. It's not a mistake and the intention is to keep the version as 13.6.7 and there will be a new build for the same version.

The second scenario is more likely but it raises the question why ventura did not get new version when monterey did.

They did this before, I remember getting updated to public release on Monterey one year ago, and installing the same version multiple times to get the last rcs, in the end they upped the version number

did they happen to bring back the Bluetooth options they removed so we can connect using higher quality codecs again? Like in past versions of macos... I would bet not.

well it's not quite the same thing but here are the monterey builds from 2023 and you can see some strange pattern breaking where build releases cross over

but they did not release an rc for the same version that had already been released.

I think they removed the CVV from the Apple Card when you look at saved credit cards in Safari
