As global co-head of Private Wealth Management at Goldman Sachs, Flynn is responsible for watching over the money of the investment bank’s wealthiest customers. Her unit’s 3,500 employees invest and manage the accounts of 16,000 Goldman Sachs clients, from individuals to foundations and family offices, and contribute to the more than $1 trillion in assets managed by Goldman’s larger Wealth Management division. (The bank does not break out revenues for Flynn’s business, but says private wealth management is “the largest contributor” to its overall wealth management operations, which last year increased net revenues 14% to $7.4 billion.) Flynn, who became a Goldman partner in 2014, also co-chairs the bank’s global inclusion, diversity, and equity committee—a tricky but important role for a company that recently settled a massive and long-running class-action lawsuit alleging gender discrimination.
