Delphine Arnault, named Dior chairman and CEO in January, is the oldest child and only daughter of LVMH president Bernard Arnault, whose fortune of nearly $200 billion regularly makes him the world’s richest man. Many wonder whether the top Dior job presages her father, 74, eventually picking her to run the LVMH empire, of which the family owns 48%. That would set up a succession battle with Delphine’s four brothers, all of whom hold key LVMH roles. But her prior stint as vice president of LVMH’s flagship brand, Louis Vuitton, and her current seat on LVMH’s executive committee and board give her major clout in an industry famous for outsize male egos.
