After more than four years leading Apple’s People and Retail teams, O’ Brien this spring handed the People portfolio over to Carol Surface, who joined the tech giant from Medtronic. On the retail side, O’Brien oversees the company’s more than 500 retail stores and is responsible for new openings; there have been nine over the past year, including one in Mumbai and one in Delhi. In guiding the launch of these two new stores, O’Brien has played a key role in steering Apple’s expansion into India—a crucial, growing market for the company.
