Rigail was a long-standing member of Air France’s senior management prior to becoming CEO in 2018. The first female chief executive in Air France’s history made gains in 2022 as the airline reported a return to profit—$766 million—on revenue of $28 billion, a surge of 64%, including its highest fourth-quarter revenue in history. Under Rigail’s leadership and with sustainability at the forefront, the airline continues to invest in more economical and eco-friendlier “new generation aircraft,” leading to a reduction in CO2 and noise pollution. Air France, one of the founding members of the SkyTeam global alliance, also managed to land the No. 1 spot on the Skytrax Best Airlines in Western Europe ranking. To continue to meet strong demand for air travel, the French flag carrier is expanding its long-haul routes in the Middle East and North America.
