Ann-Marie Campbell started working at Home Depot over 38 years ago as a cashier. Now she is executive vice president of U.S. stores and international operations, in charge of more than 2,300 stores and 400,000 associates in the States. She also oversees supply chain, merchandising, sourcing, and strategy for Home Depot in Canada and Mexico. This year, Campbell navigated the $157-billion-in-revenue company through the comedown from the pandemic-era home improvement boom, which has been marked by tighter consumer budgets, rising inflation, and a slowing housing market. In the second quarter of 2023, sales in the U.S. decreased 2% from the same period last year. Campbell is board chair of the Homer Fund, which provides financial support to Home Depot associates facing unexpected hardship.
