Cadence, an electronic design firm, has earned a spot on the Best Companies to Work For list for 10 consecutive years. The company provides a wide range of technology products such as software, hardware, and chips, creating systems for the automotive, mobile, aerospace, and health care industries. Cadence offers up to eight weeks of paid time off for employees who need to manage care for themselves or a loved one. The company provides cancer support, as well as fertility support through Progyny Smart Cycle, a program offering fertility treatment plans, including IVF, artificial insemination, and egg freezing, along with surrogacy and adoption counseling. Cadence has invested $50 million to address racial wealth inequality in affordable housing, homeownership, and small businesses, areas where minority communities have historically faced disadvantages.

Cadence is an electronic design company with a slate of innovative clients. With clear markers for employee success, Cadence has earned a spot on the Best Companies to Work for List for nine years.

In 2021 the company made DEI a top priority, launching employee-led inclusion groups for Black, Latinx, veteran, LGBTQ+, and women employees.

Cadence utilizes a High-Performance Culture model, implementing clear guidelines for success at every level. As a result, nine in 10 employees feel as if they are making meaningful contributions to the company.

Cadence also has a peer-to-peer recognition program called SHINE, enabling employees to recognize colleagues for their work.

The company recently expanded its parental leave policy to 12 weeks for both primary and secondary caregivers. Cadence has added caregiver leave for up to eight weeks, as well as coverage for perimenopause and menopause treatment; cancer support; and mental health challenges.

"Compared to other places I've worked, this company is very good at rewarding employees solely on what they deliver, not on years of experience, or educational background, etc. This makes it a great place to work for young, hands-on people who want to get things done and are able to have the same performance as others with many more years in the area. For example, in the team that I'm part of, there are employees ranging from one year of experience to 20 years of experience; nevertheless their job titles (and also compensation, I assume) are aligned with how much they are contributing to the company."

You see how coordinated the upper management is in terms of communicating with the employees, but more importantly they seem very personable in their communications. I worked at a top chip manufacturing company before coming here and I never felt that way. Lip-Bu is definitely an extremely competent leader, but he's very approachable. I remember the first time I met him, during our annual training. I had only been with the company for about five months when I introduced myself to him. He talked to me with ease and with respect. Surprisingly, he knew about the activity that I was engaging with at the time, and we started talking more in depth about it. It seemed unique that a CEO of a company this size was aware of my activity—and not only that, it showed me he's working just as hard at the executive level as we are at the engineering level."
