Antoine van Agtmael is a senior advisor at Foreign Policy. He was the principal founder of Emerging Markets Management LLC, coined the term “emerging markets,” and is the co-author of The Smartest Places on Earth and The Emerging Markets Century. Earlier, he worked at International Finance Corporation, the World Bank, the Thai investment bank TISCO, and Bankers Trust. He was educated at the Netherlands School of Economics, Yale University, and New York University’s Stern School.
