Afua Osei


Afua Osei is director of strategic partnerships at Foreign Policy with a priority focus on diplomacy, development and consumer goods. Before joining FP, she was a media entrepreneur across Sub-Saharan Africa, building a digital education and community platform that reached more than 1 million women across 100+ countries and hosted events on 3 continents. Earlier in her career, she was based in Lagos, Nigeria as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company serving as a strategic advisor to multinational, private equity and public sector clients across Africa, Europe, Australia and North America. She has also held advisory roles at the Financial Times, Albright Stonebridge Group and Technoserve.

Named by Forbes as one of Africa's Youngest Power Women, she has delivered keynote talks on private sector partnerships and digital entrepreneurship globally at Google, Microsoft, Salesforce, SXSW, The Africa America Institute and The Brookings Institution. She earned a master's degree in business administration and master's degree in public policy from the University of Chicago. She studied international management at the London School of Economics, served as a Fulbright Scholar in Malaysia and graduated cum laude from Allegheny College where she currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees.
