Together with BT Group and Qualcomm we have again demonstrated the power of our leading 5G carrier aggregation technology and AirScale RAN portfolio. BT is the first European operator to achieve five component carrier (5CC) 5G carrier aggregation on 5G Standalone. This milestone follows our joint 4CC downlink carrier aggregation breakthrough in 2022, and the concurrent 2CC uplink carrier aggregation achievement in 2023. Multi-component carrier aggregation is key to maximizing the use of radio network assets for the highest 5G data rates and extended coverage, which helps enhance subscriber experience. Together with stc, we are making AI-powered autonomous RAN operations a reality. We deployed our Cognitive SON, the AI-based feature of the industry-leading Nokia MantaRay SON, in stc's commercial radio network. The solution was tailored to address unique operational challenges. In a period of very high traffic load, Cognitive SON processed over 10,000 actions autonomously, resulting in enhanced throughput and user experience. Nokia is supporting stc Group's ambition to leverage artificial intelligence for sustainable growth while enabling digital transformation in Saudi Arabia. With the energy-saving capabilities of our MantaRay SON, stc has been able to reduce energy consumption across its 4G and 5G networks. This week, we had the pleasure of hosting a Mobile Networks industry analyst community at our headquarters in Espoo, Finland. We also welcomed several of our valued customers, who shared their insights during the event. Nokia President & CEO Pekka Lundmark provided the analysts with a comprehensive update on our strategic priorities, where we see the biggest opportunities in the telecoms sector and what we’re doing to build on our strengths as a trusted partner for telcos and enterprises as we look forward to 2030 and beyond. Mobile Networks President Tommi Uitto outlined how 5G mid-band coverage has reached only approx. 30% of all 4G LTE sites, excluding China, while network traffic is projected to grow 4x to 9x through 2030.
