An elevator fit for an emperor! 👑🏰   This project at Ambras Castle (Schloss Ambras Innsbruck) in Austria has been 111 years in the making. The elevator was planned in 1913 by the Archduke Franz Ferdinand and approved by Emperor Franz Joseph I. But the following turmoil in Europe halted the project for over a century.   Now our KONE MonoSpace 500 DX elevator is ready to transport visitors between floors, blending today’s marvels seamlessly with the grandeur of the past.   Take a look at the castle (in German): https://kone.ws/3W2xQq8   📷: Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien #PeopleFlow #elevators #history

KONE Global Youth Camp is back! 🏕️   Since 1947, we have been organizing annual summer camps for our employees’ children. From the late 70’s, the camps have been global, connecting youngsters across the world! 📸 And our archives are full of happy memories! A photo of one of the first camps from 1948 and a ‘KONE-news’ snippet from the 80’s titled “Friendship between seven nations at Touru” are just few of the treasures we uncovered. Fast forward to today, pictures from this summer showcase how the tradition lives on with 106 children from 36 countries gathered in Finland for a week of fun, friendship, and cultural exchange. Have you or your child attended a KONE camp? We'd love to hear your memories! 💙 #LifeAtKONE #KONEGlobalYouthCamp

Onko hississä tilaa kaikille? Vanhoissa hisseissä ei ole riittävästi tilaa eikä toiminnallisuuksia Hissiin pitäisi mahtua kaikki fyysisistä kyvyistä riippumatta.  ♿🧑🦯🦮 Fyysisellä koolla on merkitystä. Niin myös äänikehotteilla 🗣 ja pistekirjoituspainikkeilla⠃. Mennään yhdessä kohti tulevaisuutta, jossa on kaikille tilaa. 🌐 https://bit.ly/3zLm2RC #esteettömyys #saavutettavuus #HissitKaikille #modernisaatio

Let’s take an escalator ride through history! 📚🕰 The design of modern moving staircases goes way back into mid-1800s, but the first ever operational escalator was installed in the 1890s in Coney Island, New York – as an amusement ride. 🎡 In 1898, one was installed at Harrod’s store in London, and as the 1900s rolled on, escalators became a regular part of people’s lives. We started escalator production based on our own design in 1977 at Chateauroux, France, and have installed escalators in several locations ranging from the mundane to the extraordinary. #PeopleFlow #escalators
