LEGITin ja Edita Lakitieton yhteistyössä ärjestämä koko kevään mittainen – nimenomaisesti juristeille suunniteltu – koulutussarja on nyt paketissa. CLIENT SUCCESS: How our streamlined guides cut Yle's negotiation times from months to just weeks. Our client, the Finnish Broadcasting Company (Yle), needed a faster way to handle audio-visual content contracts, which traditionally took up to 6 months to negotiate. WE ARE REDEFINING LEGAL EDUCATION I've realized that in the age of AI, friendships and self-development are increasingly crucial. 💃 Recently, we hosted a party. We enjoyed meeting new people, engaging in lively discussions, dancing, and forming new connections. I had so much fun. This experience led me to question the current state of legal education. Why must it look and feel the way it does today? Who decided the aesthetics? Who decided the courses? Are you familiar with the coding school 42? Or Hyper Island? Why can't we have something like that in legal education? 🌏 We're establishing our own "university", presently named FLEX. Our Legal Design School already boasts a community of thousands of lawyers from over 60 countries. The popularity of our courses indicates a strong demand for practical education that is not offered in the traditional law school curriculum. Our focus will be on vital future skills: AI, Legal Design, Leadership, DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion), Systems Thinking, Storytelling, and Environmental Responsibility. Things that really matter. We want our students to develop exceptional skills that enhance their professional capabilities and make them highly sought after in the job market. The school will offer a hybrid format of online and in-person classes, starting with a pilot FLEX summer school. We are already in discussions with universities about how to accredit the courses. Mä olen itse saanut aiempien ”ulostulojeni” jälkeen kymmeniä viestejä samojen asioiden kanssa kamppailevilta nuorilta ammattilaisilta ja opiskelijoilta. Jos jokin ala tarvitsee muutosta inhimillisempään suuntaan, on se lakiala. Näistä asioista PITÄÄ puhua. Meidän tulee näyttää esimerkkiä. Esimerkkiä ja vastuunkantoa odotan etenkin yliopistoilta (University of Helsinki, University of Lapland, Turun yliopisto - University of Turku, University of Eastern Finland); miten voi olla mahdollista, että opiskelijanne voivat niin huonosti? Oikiksen opetussuunnitelma vaatii radikaaleja muutoksia, jotta nuoret juristit löytävät itsensä näköisen polun – ja itsensä ammattilaisena. ✨BRING BACK WORD TEMPLATES✨ Now that everybody is talking about Generative AI, it's time to return to basics. Here's a case that we're very proud of: Evli Alexander Incentives Oy (EAI) tasked us with optimizing their Word environment and creating streamlined, technically refined templates. 💡 So, what's the secret to creating an outstanding template? Our journey began with user research, diving into how EAI's lawyers used Word to pinpoint critical bottlenecks. Next, we developed a prototype for an enhanced Word environment. This prototype underwent rigorous testing by EAI's lawyers, whose feedback was crucial in refining our approach and perfecting the end product. This is the essence of legal design for templates: testing, iterating, and conducting user research. There's no universal one-size-fits-all solution. It really pays off to listen to users and test the prototype. The outcome was a customized Microsoft Word package, with a user-friendly interface, an efficient drafting system, and standardised templates to ensure consistency across the team. ➡️ This solution proved immediately effective, with EAI experiencing significant time savings and a smoother document drafting process. It's important to note that excitement for new technologies and making the most of existing tools aren't mutually exclusive. It's totally fine to get hyped about GenAI and the latest tools - we are too! But if you truly want to save time and boost team morale, focus on refining everyday tools. A well-crafted template can make life so much easier for everybody. This approach is also a form of legal design – well-designed templates may not grab headlines, but they are incredibly effective.
