Detectives Brew Results; Arrest Four Suspects for Several ABC Store Thefts

Fairfax County, VA — Detectives from our Criminal Investigations Division have charged an adult and three juvenile suspects with a series of thefts at Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority (ABC) stores throughout the county.

Since March, detectives have investigated a crew that has been targeting ABC stores, loading carts with alcohol and fleeing in a vehicle before police could arrive. This crew has been linked to 15 ABC store thefts and over $72,000 in stolen merchandise.

On May 27, Jomarice Evans, 27, of Washington, D.C., was arrested in a neighboring jurisdiction on unrelated charges. Following an extensive investigation, detectives were able to link Evans to multiple ABC thefts in Fairfax County.

Evans was charged with Robbery, five counts of Grand Larceny, five counts of Larceny with Intent to Sell, five counts of Transportation of Alcohol, five counts of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, Destruction of Property, and Organized Retail Theft. He is currently being held in another jurisdiction (Mugshot below).

Detectives also identified and charged three juveniles in connection with the thefts.

On June 27, detectives from our Fugitive Tracking and Apprehension Unit, assisted by the United States Marshals Service, arrested three juveniles in Washington, D.C. All three were charged with three counts of Grand Larceny and Larceny with Intent to Sell.
