I read all the reviews and was really surprised to see how thick this product is. You cannot wear it under makeup. If you have a little bit of dry skin it zooms into that area. I always have this dry patch and it never is this noticeable. The cream just intensified the appearance of it. The thickness also makes it difficult to rub in. I feel like I am being too abrasive with my face by putting it on.
I’m a grandmother that bought these when my daughter got married in Mexico two years ago. I bought several of these products and they were fantastic for both infant children and younger grandchildren. I’ve even used it myself and it’s a fantastic sunscreen👍
I really like it. I have sensitive skin and this sunscreen is very soft on my skin. Feels light, doesn't leave orange marks on clothes like other sunscreens I've tried. It also serves its purpose very well (within normal limits): under the hot sun of Central Florida, using this sunscreen twice a day prevented sunburns (while using it only once caused me to have very minor sunburns on the shoulders - the most exposed part of my body -, which is definitly very satisfying and efficient). The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because it is a bit difficult to spread, which leaves a white film on the skin; I used another sunscreen on my face, and the Aveeno on my neck, and my skin had different tones on the neck and face. Still, I really like this sunscreen and will definitly buy again.
I love that this is in stick format. I can use less/more as needed. No sticky or tacky feel. It's like....a hard antiperspirant stick. I apply to my cheeks and t-zone and then smooth it out with my hands. It is a bit tough to spread but I imagine if you warmed it in your hands (?) For a bit it'd spread easier.
If you use too much, a light "white" residue will show.
It doesn't feel "tacky" or greasy, but it is initially a 'feeling' of some sort. (Could be because my cheeks are usually dry.)
Zero irritation though- I've reapplied it (on clean, and semi oily/natural skin- still no irritation!)
I never liked using spf on my face because lotions/liquids would clog pores/leave my face feeling heavy/greasy, regardless of product stating otherwise. Sprays...no.
This little stick literally does as it says- no sticky/heavy feeling. My acne and pores don't become 'angry' after prolonged use, and its protecting my skin. (And the SPF is high, which I wanted!)
I have yet to use it in winter. Will update! (With and without emolient-use)
This was recommended by my dermatologist for extreme rosacea. It's kind of thick and goopy but I guess thats why it works. If I'm going to be outside all day, I put it on, wait 10 mins, put on another layer, and makeup overtop if I'm wearing makeup that day. This method was also recommended by him and it seems to work, I've had no flare ups since I started wearing this daily. In the problem area (nose and cheeks) nothing else touches my skin under this.
When I opened the stick, there was a crack across it which might get annoying when I reach the bottom of the stick (will probably fall out). Other than that it's a good product. I used it on a trip last year and it did its job. It does come on a bit white but once you rub it in it's fine. It's best to apply it outside so it applied easier on your warm skin.
I don’t understand the negative reviews… it’s sunscreen, it’s meant to protect your skin for VERY harmful sun rays. The expectation that it be completely clear and feel like nothing is just ridiculous. It’s like saying you want a bulletproof vest to be thin and weightless. Other reviews talked about the consistency and how it goes on… seriously? I’m genuinely worried about how those people apply deodorant then…
I used it twice already for varying levels of application and sun exposure and even had a second day in the sun with the old spray sun protectant and guess what… the STICK was the best long lasting protection.
Here’s my suggestion… apply it lightly (you will see white from the stick) and rub it in. THAT’S IT.
These sunscreen bars are ideal for carry-on only travel. I've tried a couple types and this one was better than the Neutrogena brand in terms of the feel on your skin. It did however leave a bit of a white residue (that's how it blocks the sun but be aware). It did work quite well until you missed a spot which is easier to do than with the liquid sunscreens. It's also a bit more difficult for hairy men to apply (the same issue they would encounter with deodorant). In general, if travelling, it would be my recommendation, if at home, the liquid version would probably be better.
