Product description
The Oral-B PRO 1000 rechargeable electric toothbrush provides a clinically proven superior clean vs. a regular manual toothbrush. The professionally inspired design of the CrossAction brush head surrounds each tooth with bristles angled at 16 degrees, and 3D cleaning action oscillates, rotates, and pulsates to break up and remove up to 300% more plaque along the gumline vs. a regular manual toothbrush. The pressure sensor stops the pulsation movement if you brush too hard and there is 1 mode, plus an in-handle timer to help you brush for a dentist-recommended 2 minutes. Best of all, it’s brought to you by Oral-B – the #1 brand used by dentists worldwide*. Compatible with the following replacement toothbrush heads: CrossAction, 3D White, Sensitive Clean, Precision Clean, FlossAction, TriZone, Deep Sweep, ProWhite, Ortho, PowerTip, and Dual Clean. *Based on surveys of a representative worldwide sample of dentists carried out for P&G regularly.

The toothbrush has two or three (I believe) scrubbing speeds; it has a two minute timer (the recommended amount of time to brush) and it is light and comfortable in the hand. It is not at all noisy nor does it vibrate. If I had a complaint after a few days of use, it would be that the body of the toothbrush will easily slip out of your hands if it gets wet, as is to be expected. There are no grooves or slightly rough surfaces as there were on my older model to counter this tendency, so try to avoid dribbling on the body of the brush and you will be fine.
A bit pricey in Canada, but being an Oral "B" model, I was not too chuffed at the cost. Recommended.
Battery life is great and the 3 different speeds is a good feature. I mainly just use it on high. The power that this toothbrush has is good and adequate for what it’s supposed to do.
In the instruction booklet that I got with mine, it was unclear on how long the first initial charge was supposed to take and how you knew when it was fully charged. I actually had to google that information. Mine took over 26 hours to charge the first time before it was ready to use.

One odd thing is that the Amazon version has 3 cleaning modes (regular, sensitive, whitening), while this same Pro 1000 model with the exact same price in some local stores in Canada only has 1 cleaning mode. Can't explain it as the model number, box, price and look of the toothbrush are the exact same. You don't need to cycle through the modes to turn it off, you can simply hold the button for two seconds. The price is also reasonable for what you get especially if you get it at a slight discount.
The bad: The grip like other reviewers mentioned. Its very slippery unlike the grip on the previous version which had a soft rubber portion on the front of the handle and the back had protruding lines. I really need to hold the grip tight in order for it not to start slowly sliding down especially when wet. Oral b definitely needs to improve the grip in their next update of this toothbrush. My guess is they saved money by making a very simple plastic grip but didn't think how it would affect the experience of using it. It's not a deal breaker but it's certainly a bit annoying. The battery is the same as the previous model, nickel metal hydrate. I read to extend the battery life the toothbrush should not be always charging. Wish the battery was lithium ion which has a longer lifespan and can go longer between chargers.
