Scroll through to get acquainted with each of the bonkers, bizarre, and beautiful costumes ahead of the new season, which kicks off with a special two-night premiere Sept. 22 and 23. Cupcake

The Masked Singer
Michael Becker / FOX

This colorful confection looks sweet as can be with her bright green thigh-high boots and matching eye shadow, blue gloves, and colorful sprinkles.

Banana Split

The Masked Singer
Michael Becker / FOX

If season 3's Banana and season 2's Ice Cream had a baby, this costume would be it! Based on this design it seems we'll be getting at least one duet costume this season. And is the ice cream half of the costume doing the splits a clue to the singer's identity? Stay tuned to find out.

Hamster

The Masked Singer
Michael Becker / FOX

Those chonky cheeks! Those little hamster toes! This costume is absolutely adorable, and with its beaded headphones and necklace to match, it seems this singer is ready to jam. The Masked Singer executive producer Craig Plestis tells EW that the celebrity inside this costume "went crazy for it" when they first saw it. And who could blame them?

Queen of Hearts

The Masked Singer
Michael Becker / FOX

This more abstract costume feels very reminiscent of season 4's Lips (who was revealed as Wendy Williams), from the head-centric body to the bright red color.

Mallard

The Masked Singer
Michael Becker / FOX

With his cane, monocle, and feather-specked top hat, this is one very regal duck! Although it's more refined and less steampunk, Mallard still feels like they could hang with season 2's Fox (worn by winner Wayne Brady).

Dalmatian

The Masked Singer
Michael Becker / FOX

Put Dalmatian in, coach! This football-centric costume joins the adorable likes of Bulldog, Poodle, and Rottweiler in The Masked Singer's collection of canine-inspired costumes. Plestis tells EW this particular costume was a long time coming, though. "We've been eager to have a football-themed character in our entourage of characters, and so that was great to have as part of the X number of characters we have this season," he says.

Bull

THE MASKED SINGER
Michael Becker / FOX

You mess with the bull, and apparently you get these very fancy horns! With its flourish-worthy cape and gold-tasseled red ensemble, Bull looks the part of both a Spanish matador and a fierce competitor.

Baby

The Masked Singer
Michael Becker / FOX

The show's first-ever human costume is a giant baby in a onesie with very strange fingers and huge blue eyes. This pure nightmare fuel also has distinctly blond hair and long lashes — could that be a clue to who's inside?

10 of 17

Caterpillar

The Masked Singer
Michael Becker / FOX

With its bright colors, fuzzy antennae, and goofy smile (complete with braces!), Caterpillar seems like a young contestant. But is that just to throw us off? Perhaps we've got another Broccoli (who ended up being 80-year-old legendary crooner Paul Anka) on our hands.

Beach Ball

The Masked Singer
Michael Becker / FOX

The build of this particular costume, with its round shape and no discernible legs, brings to mind last season's Snail, which ended up being none other than Kermit the Frog. Miss Piggy, is that you?

12 of 17

Octopus

The Masked Singer
Michael Becker / FOX

This anatomically incorrect cephalopod has tentacles for hair and fingers. The purple suit seems to be hiding someone tall and skinny, but it's always hard to be sure in these first looks. And who knew octopuses were furry?!

Pepper

The Masked Singer
Michael Becker / FOX

This fiery costume looks poised to go out and win a salsa competition, with its fun skirt and colorful tights. The costume itself naturally calls to mind Taco (who ended up being Tom Bergeron) from season 3, but the big eyes and wide, happy grin remind us of season 4's Popcorn (Taylor Dayne). Here's to hoping they spice up the competition!

Skunk

The Masked Singer
Michael Becker / FOX

The glamorous fur dress, regal gloves, and black fascinator scream old Hollywood glam. Couple that with the cute white wig atop her head, and it seems possible Skunk could be this year's legend in the vein of season 1's Gladys Knight, season 2's Patti LaBelle, or season 3's Dionne Warwick.

Mother Nature

The Masked Singer
Michael Becker / FOX

We're not sure whether to bow down in amazement or run away screaming from this costume. Either way, this extremely detailed (and green) work of costume design magic surely houses a force to be reckoned with.

Pufferfish

The Masked Singer
Michael Becker / FOX

Bubbles, giant lips, fins, and spikes — oh my! This costume is at once gorgeous and a little dangerous. Will Pufferfish blow up the competition?
