Here's our celeb wish list for season 2 of The Masked Singer

Suit up!

Season 1 of Fox's strangely addictive singing competition was a fun and engaging shake-up to the genre. From Gladys Knight, Rumer Willis, and Joey Fatone to Tori Spelling, Terry Bradshaw, and eventual winner T-Pain, viewers heard singing voices both familiar and new. As Fox prepares for season 2, we put together a wish list of celebrities who should slip into a costume and make audiences — as well as host Nick Cannon and panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and Nicole Scherzinger — flood social media each week with guesses about each singer's identity.

Emma Bunton, a.k.a. Baby Spice

Any Spice Girl would suffice, but what we'd really love to see is Baby Spice wearing a bunny costume (with the ears serving as a nod to her iconic pig tails, of course). As a contestant, we're confident she could disguise her vocals so as to not give away her identity too early … but also that she could win the whole thing if she wanted. —Sam Highfill

Macaulay Culkin

From starring in a Home Alone-themed Google Assistant commercial to live-tweeting the Oscars, it's official: Mack is back! Culkin once fronted a comedy rock band called The Pizza Underground that put a "cheesy" twist on Velvet Underground songs, so he's no stranger to silly singing situations.

Mask: Raccoon – A lovable "filthy animal."

Hilary Duff

The former Disney star had her own brief recording career (what early 2000s Disney kid didn't?) and we would love to see the Younger actress step back into the spotlight in more playful fashion. She's still just as cute as ever, which is why she should be masked as an adorable kitten. Her vocal chops deserve another day in the sun and dismissing young Disney child stars is so yesterday, so why not take a crazy chance (why not do a crazy dance) on her? —Maureen Lee Lenker

DJ Khaled

After years of wondering, we still have not figured out what DJ Khaled actually does (although we're still trying to forget that time we learned what he will not do). Here's his chance to showcase any kind of talent besides occasionally yelling out things (namely, his own name) while talented singers perform around him. What if it turns out he's been an incredible singer this entire time? Congratulations, he played us all. And if not, at least we'll get a likely appearance from his adorable son Asahd when he's finally unmasked.

Rita Ora

Does anyone actually know and remember what Rita Ora sounds like? The answer is no. (The coaches on Germany's The Voice were even a little stumped.) She could sing her own songs and Kenan Thompson still probably wouldn't know it was her. Her 2018 album was titled Phoenix, but a bird costume might too obvious. Perhaps the sometimes-actress could be a spider, a nod to the Iggy Azalea track "Black Widow" on which she featured. —Melissa Rosenberg

Bryan Cranston

Bryan Cranston has shown off some decent vocal chops in the past, and he always seems willing to show up for a musically themed comedy sketch. Cranston's costume should be an armadillo, to keep with the Southwestern aesthetic of Breaking Bad. Or maybe he could be Godzilla! No one would guess that one, because everyone's forgotten he was in that movie. —Tyler Aquilina

Keke Palmer

The 25-year-old can act and sing, she has a big, lively personality, and she's already in the Fox family thanks to her time on Scream Queens. The former Nickelodeon child star has released two albums — 2007's So Uncool and 2016's Waited to Exhale — as well as a few mixtapes. Could The Masked Singer be a boost to that side of her career? There's only one way to find out. Put her in a peach costume (a hint/nod to her Ice Age: Continental Drift character Peaches) and get her some backup dancers because we wanna see her perform "Escapade" by Janet Jackson (another clue referring to her Nickelodeon series True Jackson, VP). —Gerrad Hall

Gaten Matarazzo

Some Stranger Things fans may not know the actor who plays Dustin is a bonafied Broadway belter. Matarazzo seems like he would have a lot of fun performing, and season 1 of The Masked Singer taught us it takes both a great voice and a spirited performance to make it to the finals.

Mask: Poop emoji — No slight against Matarazzo, it would just be a very funny character that only a teen boy would agree to.

Song: "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns N' Roses — he's used to playing someone who screams a lot in the '80s.

Naomi Judd

One half of the famous country duo The Judds, mama Judd provided the harmonies to daughter Wynonna's melodies, so her solo voice may not be as instantly recognizable to audiences. The 73-year-old grandma could tell us about the good ol' days via her clues, like when she won five Grammys. And as someone who once judged a singing competition (CMT's Can You Duet), well, why not her? We'd love to see her build a bridge to "newer" country — perhaps Taylor Swift's "Love Story" — and the Kentucky native should do so wearing a horse costume. —GH

John McEnroe

The wild card! The 60-year-old tennis legend turned to music after retiring from the professional tour, learning how to play guitar with the help of friends including Eddie Van Halen and Eric Clapton. He eventually started The Johnny Smyth Band (no doubt in honor of his wife, singer/songwriter Patty Smyth, whom he married in 1997), playing guitar and serving as lead singer. While Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich apparently praised McEnroe's singing chops, a bar owner where he performed is rumored to have said he "couldn't sing to save his life." Even better! Because Shia LaBeouf portrayed him in 2018's Borg vs. McEnroe, we're up for a little play on words here to inform McEnroe's costume: LaBeouf is close to boeuf, which, in French, means beef; beef is from a cow; a bull is a male cow. Put McEnroe in a bull costume! —GH

Melissa Villaseñor

The Saturday Night Live featured player hit all the right notes with her killer impression of Lady Gaga singing "Shallow." She's got monster pipes and now it's time to let her own voice shine — while wearing a ridiculous costume.

Mask: A swan — a tribute to Björk, another musician in the comedian's arsenal of spot-on impressions.

Song: Villaseñor needs to take her diva skills to a new level with Mariah Carey's "Fantasy."

Marilyn Manson

Yes, he's already a professional singer, but one many wrote off before he uttered a single note thanks to his appearance. This would give the rocker a chance to entertain without any preconceived notions. And we already know he likes to dress up. Manson could even end up surprising his own fans by ditching his signature raspy growl to show off his full range.

Mask: Purple Teddy Bear — Sweet, silly, and not-at-all creepy, the perfect disguise.

Song: Backstreet Boys' "I'll Never Break Your Heart"' — The BSB song topped Manson's "The Dope Show" on the very first episode of TRL so it'd be only fitting for him to use it to win this competition.
