Hanna

HOW/WHEN & WHERE TO WATCH: Streaming on Amazon Prime Video

Did we need a TV version of Hanna, the 2011 action flick starring Kid She-Bourne? No, but creator David Farr (the film's co-writer) has some fun revisiting this teen huntress on a mission of Euro-trotting vengeance. Esme Creed-Miles is the glassy-eyed and mysterious Hanna, raised by her badass renegade dad (Joel Kinnaman) in the Polish wilderness. Kinnaman's old The Killing costar Mireille Enos is the baddie (goodie?) chasing them through Morocco and Germany. Slow as a movie stretched four sizes too long; ideal for those who wanted more dreamy club scenes in Jack Ryan. B —Darren Franich.

HOW/WHEN & WHERE TO WATCH: Streaming on cwtv.com

If you're looking for something to binge, check out Legacies, available to stream on cwtv.com. With its first episode, Legacies introduced us to the vampires, werewolves, witches, and one hybrid that make up the student population of the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted. And with its last episode of season 1, those students will be tested like never before. As showrunner Julie Plec says, "Hope (Danielle Rose Russell) and her squad's plan to rescue Landon (Aria Shahghasemi) from Triad [Industries] hits a snag when Triad brings the fight to the Salvatore School." But before you find out how it all ends, be sure to check out some highlights from the series' freshman year, including Jo's (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe) emotional return in episode 6, a ridiculously fun talent show in episode 11, and Landon's big unveiling in episode 13.

HOW/WHEN & WHERE TO WATCH: Check local listings, PBS

Actress Ruth Wilson (The Affair) never met her grandfather, Alec Wilson, but he'd always been "a man of mystery" to her family: He secretly married multiple women, including Ruth's grandmother, Alison, but none knew of his polygamy until after he died. In this miniseries based on Alison's private memoirs, Iain Glen (Game of Thrones) plays Alec, while Ruth plays Alison. "It took an awful lot out of me," she admits. "The life she constructed is pulled from underneath her.… It was an enormous responsibility and an extraordinary experience that was, in the end, quite spiritual." Besides, Alec wasn't a complete cad. "He was adored by Ruth's family," Glen says. "He created the problem in the first place, but nonetheless…" The mystery runs deep.
