Coldplay's Chris Martin to guest on Modern Family

Chris Martin is about to get his fill of Phil.

The Coldplay frontman will guest-star on Modern Family, EW has learned. The Nov. 29 episode of the ABC family comedy, titled “Brushes with Celebrity,” will feature various family members unspooling their stories of crossing paths with famous folks, and as it turns out, Phil (Ty Burrell) dealt with an “embarrassing health issue” while trying to sell a house to Martin. The role is described as more than a cameo, as Martin plays a significant role in the episode. You can see them bonding in the photo above.

Coldplay is currently on tour in support of its new album, A Head Full of Dreams.

Modern Family‘s season 9 guest list also includes James Van Der Beek, Vanessa Williams, and Nathan Lane.
