Insecure: Issa Rae enters the dating world in new season 2 trailer

Now that Issa (Issa Rae) is single, she’s exploring her options — and she’s not having exactly the best time with it, judging by the new trailer for Insecure‘s upcoming second season.

“We’re a couple months from the finale,” Rae, who created the HBO half-hour, previously told EW of season 2. “Lawrence is doing what he’s supposed to be doing, post-breakup, post-new job. Molly is post-being told, ‘You need to slow down.’ And Issa…friends give you a mourning time following a breakup period. After a while, your friends are gonna be like, ‘Get over it.'”

“Season 2, I can say I f— up a lot,” Jay Ellis, who plays Issa’s ex-boyfriend Lawrence, added.

Yvonne Orji and Lisa Joyce also star in the critically acclaimed series, which earned Rae a Golden Globe nod for her performance. Watch the season 2 trailer above, and see the premiere when it airs July 23 on HBO.
