New Girl clip: Schmidt has to use his first name

What is Schmidt’s first name? That’s the biggest mystery running throughout New Girl‘s six seasons, and in the Fox comedy’s next episode, it looks like we might finally find out the answer.

In an exclusive clip from the half-hour, Schmidt tells Winston he’s going to launch a new brand… and he’s going to start using his first name again as a result.

“Schmidt, I think that is a very bad idea,” Winston responds gravely.

“I have no choice! When I was born, my parents gave me a name,” Schmidt explains. “It was the name I was called for most of my life. And I want my name back!”
