Sons of Anarchy alum Kim Coates to guest star on Kevin Can Wait

Kevin James is about to make a dangerous enemy.

Sons of Anarchy alum Kim Coates is set to guest star on an upcoming episode of James’ CBS sitcom Kevin Can Wait, EW can exclusively reveal.

Coates will portray Terry, Kevin’s brash nemesis, who’s always one step ahead of him. There’s some bad history between the two that Kevin hopes not to repeat when the duo compete to secure their local church for their daughters’ weddings.

The actor is best known for his seven-season run on Kurt Sutter’s FX drama as the violent and depraved Tig. Kevin Can Wait reunites Coates and James, who recently costarred together in Netflix’s original film True Memoirs of an International Assassin. Coates is also appearing in another upcoming Netflix project, the Steven Soderbergh- created mini-series Godless.

Kevin Can Wait has been TV’s highest rated new comedy in terms of viewership, and CBS ordered two additional episodes last month after already giving the show a full season pickup. Coates joins a list of guest stars that has included Ray Romano and Adam Sandler.

Kevin Can Wait airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
