The real Marcia f—ing Brady of the Upper East Side headed downtown Saturday night … and right into a seat at Cruel Intentions: The Musical.

Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played Kathryn Merteuil in the original 1999 film, was joined by a table full of friends, including actor Lee Pace, for the performance at (le) Poisson Rouge. During the show, she laughed, cheered, and even swayed when Sebastian Valmont (Constantine Rousouli) sang a heartbreaking rendition of Goo Goo Dolls’ “Iris.” (By pure coincidence, this writer’s table was right next to Gellar’s.)

After the show, Gellar met and took photos with the cast, including Rousouli, Lauren Zakrin (who plays Kathryn), and Carrie St. Louis (Annette). “Sometimes you just need to hang out with the younger, better looking and more talented versions of yourself!!” she wrote on Instagram. “There is nothing bittersweet about the incredible NY production of @cruelmusical. You can even get an iced tea (from Long Island) while you watch the show.”

Gellar also posted a selfie with Pace, writing, “Oh yeah, and check out my partner in crime last night, @leeepfrog It’s always trouble when we go out (but of the best kind).”

The stage adaptation remains faithful to the film — down to performing several songs from the soundtrack along with more ’90s favorites than a Now That’s What I Call Music release. Of particular note is Home Improvement star Patricia Richardson’s delivery of TLC’s “No Scrubs.” (Yes, you read that right.)

Gellar does have a small, nightly role in Cruel Intentions: The Musical: She provides the recorded the pre-show announcement telling audience members to turn off their cell phones. “It’s not that difficult, morons,” she says completely in character. “Take out that second-rate phone and hit the silent button.”

Saturday night also wasn’t Gellar’s first time seeing the show. She took in a performance alongside Cruel costars Reese Witherspoon and Selma Blair in Los Angeles back in 2015.

Cruel Intentions: The Musical runs through Feb. 19. Tickets are available here.
