Girls made a cult hit out of Robyn's "Dancing On My Own" after the sad-pop jam made an appearance on the show's inaugural season, and Sunday's episode brought the HBO half-hour's relationship with the pop star's music full circle.

Just four weeks out from its series finale, Girls closed another episode with one of the Swedish singer-songwriter's tunes, as the unreleased single "Honey" premiered at the tail end of the season 6 installment "Full Disclosure."

The song cues the episode's credits, beginning as Hannah (Lena Dunham) finally watches a short film made by her actor ex-boyfriend, Adam (Adam Driver), who used inspiration from their tumultuous relationship to mold a character with qualities in her likeness.

In a Facebook status posted Monday after Sunday's premiere of "Full Disclosure," Robyn revealed Dunham approached her about using new music for season 6, though the song she liked most wasn't quite finished yet.

"I sent her some music im working on and she picked ‘Honey.' It wasnt ready to be relesed [sic], but i finished this version for her and Girls," Robyn wrote. "Thank you Lena Dunham for making this tv-show that flips my brain like a burger like 15 times every episode, i love that feeling! And for bringing up all these emotionally complex situations in such a brilliant way, without making excuses. And thank you for asking me to make music for your work. I wouldnt want to miss out on making music for Adams movie for anything." <iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Frobyn%2Fposts%2F10154909181012530&amp;width=500" width="500" height="593" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" class="" allowfullscreen="" resize="0" replace_attributes="1" name=""></iframe>

Robyn has yet to release a proper studio album since 2010's Body Talk, which was itself a compilation of songs from three prior extended plays released between June and November that same year. She has worked with Röyksopp, La Bagatelle Magique, and Mr. Tophat on subsequent EPs.

The official release date for "Honey" has yet to be announced.
