Meet John Carver, the serial killer Pilgrim making a meal out of the Thanksgiving horror trailer

Hostel director Eli Roth's new shocker stars Patrick Dempsey and Addison Rae.

Hostel director Eli Roth has cooked up one helluva holiday horror movie with his new shocker Thanksgiving, if the film's just-released trailer is any indication.

The sneak peek finds a maniac dressed in a Pilgrim costume — going by the Instagram handle @TheJohnCarver — assaulting a string of victims with implements more generally utilized to serve dinner than deliver torture and death. Corn forks to the ears, meat tenderizer to the head, that kind of thing. We advise you to gobble up your lunch before checking it out.

Roth's film is set after a Black Friday riot ends in tragedy and finds a mysterious Thanksgiving-inspired killer terrorizing Plymouth, Mass. With residents being picked off one by one, what begins as random revenge killings are soon revealed to be part of a larger, sinister holiday plan.

The cast of Thanksgiving includes Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, Milo Manheim, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Nell Verlaque, Rick Hoffman, and Gina Gershon. Roth has also directed Cabin Fever, The Green Inferno, the 2018 Death Wish remake, The House With a Clock in Its Walls, and the upcoming Borderlands.

Thanksgiving will be released in theaters Nov. 17. Watch the trailer above.
