Lana Condor says Lara Jean and Peter are finally 'on the same page' in final To All the Boys film

It looks like Lara Jean and Peter made it.

Played by Lana Condor and Noah Centineo, the high school sweethearts from Jenny Han's To All the Boys I've Loved Before book series survived fake relationships and love triangles, and now the third and final To All the Boys film will see them choose colleges and decide their future.

EW spoke with Condor about what to expect from To All the Boys: Always and Forever (debuting Feb. 12 on Netflix).

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: How does the third film differ from the others?

LANA CONDOR: One of my favorite things about the final movie is that everyone feels like they get their due. In the first and second, it was always Lara Jean and the boys, and in this one we get to spend some more time with her friends and her sisters, which I really love to see. The relationship Lara Jean has with her sisters is so beautiful and something that I personally love to share, a healthy family relationship. I think that's beautiful to see.

It feels like Lara Jean has grown up so much. How do you feel she's changed since we first met her in 2018?

It's only been two and a half years in this whole franchise, but you definitely feel like you're watching them grow up. In this movie, she's choosing her future. She's deciding for herself. Of course she's still madly in love, and also in love with love, but it's watching someone make a choice for herself for the future. I'm so proud of her for being decisive, because she's never been decisive. In the past two movies that's her thing, she just doesn't know. I think to see her be decisive and know what she wants is really refreshing, and I really enjoyed that aspect of her glow-up. [Laughs]

This is the first time we're really seeing Lara Jean and Peter together as a couple. What's their relationship like?

I believe at this point Lara Jean and Peter have been dating for a year, so you really can tell how comfortable they are around each other. Finally they have their relationship, they're on the same page, and there's no question about anyone else. It feels like real life. Our director said it a really great way, I'll probably mess it up, but he said he feels like Lara Jean and Peter, they're always wrapped up in each other. When they're laying on the couch, they're always intertwined together and comfortable and know how they fit with each other. It gives this really beautiful sentiment of yeah, they're finally past the love triangles and letters, and it feels more real-life. You see them travel and you see them comfortable and confident in where they are. I think Lara Jean feels that way too. She's always marched to the beat of her own drum, and she's always been a really unique, quirky girl that now I feel like her world is getting bigger and she can step into it more confidently.

Your thoughts on Lara Jean's ending?

I'm very happy!
