Game Night trailer teases a bloody good time with Rachel McAdams, Jason Bateman

This definitely isn’t a typical round of Yahtzee at grandma’s house: Game Night‘s idea of fun may or may not revolve around accidental shootings, vehicular assault, and murder.

Rachel McAdams and Jason Bateman are at the center of the shenanigans in the new trailer for the upcoming comedy, about a married couple, Annie and Max, whose affinity for board games and trivia unwittingly thrusts them into a real-life murder mystery at the hands of a peculiar stranger (Kyle Chandler).

It soon becomes clear that there’s more to the contest than meets the eye, as Chandler’s character promises that the players “aren’t going to know what’s real or what’s fake.” A subsequent mix-up sees Annie mistaking a real firearm for a toy gun, accidentally shooting her spouse in the arm as a result.

“There’s some overlap in there in wondering what’s real and what’s part of the game, which lends itself to a little bit of action, some nighttime intrigue, thriller stuff,” Bateman previously told PEOPLE of the film. “And of course, you’ve got the comedy all the way through.”

Game Night, also starring Billy Magnussen, Sharon Horgan, and New Girl‘s Lamorne Morris, is in theaters Feb. 23. Watch the new trailer above.
