Win It All trailer: Jake Johnson gets in too deep

“My name is Edward Garrett, and I’m an idiot.”

In between starring in blockbuster movies like Jurassic World and this summer’s The Mummy and his regular role on Fox comedy New Girl, Jake Johnson has found time to carve out a fruitful collaborative relationship with director Joe Swanberg. Following Drinking Buddies, Digging for Fire, and an episode of Swanberg’s anthology series Easy, the duo are back together for Win It All.

Directed and co-written by Swanberg and co-written and starring Johnson, Win It All focuses on Garrett (Johnson), a small-time gambler who winds up in over his head after being asked to watch a duffel bag filled with cash for a friend headed to prison. Per the Netflix release, “When he discovers cash in the bag, he’s unable to resist the temptation and winds up deeply in debt. When the prison release is shortened, Eddie suddenly has a small window of time to win all the money back.”

Keegan-Michael Key, Joe Lo Truglio, and leading Mexican actress Aislinn Derbez all costar in the film, which is set to debut at this year’s SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas, before bowing on Netflix next month. Johnson and Swanberg also serve as producers of the project, along with Alex Orr.
