To us, Love Actually fits perfectly among top holiday movie moments

Love Actually‘s iconic card-holding scene is sweet enough to melt even the coldest of hearts and, in a film filled with big-name Hollywood stars, managed to beat out several other great moments for the No. 6 spot in the PEN special, EW Presents: The Top 10 Holiday Movie Moments.

The 2003 ensemble comedy cemented itself as one of the most beloved holiday movies ever (and a popular basis for spoofs) thanks to the scene in particular when Andrew Lincoln (long before his Walking Dead days) as Mark professes his love for his best friend’s wife Juliet (Kiera Knightley) through a series of handwritten cards and a little boombox.

“We’ve all had a relationship where we’ve been the one who loved somebody and they didn’t love us back, so I think it really hits a nerve with a lot of viewers,” says EW senior editor Amy Wilkinson.

Though the relationship is doomed from the start (she is married to his best friend, after all) the two share a sweet kiss before he leaves.

“Is it really your dream to have your husband’s best friend come up to your doorstep and profess his love?” asks EW correspondent Shirley Li. “I mean, maybe not, but if he looked like Andrew Lincoln, well then, sure.”
