Norman Lear, Rita Moreno speed down Golden Globes red carpet on motorized scooter

'Mood: Rita Moreno and Norman Lear pulling up to the #GoldenGlobes red carpet on a scooter'

They’re both Hollywood icons: Rita Moreno, one of 12 EGOT winners (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony) winners in history, and Norman Lear, iconic TV writer. And they arrived in style to the 75th Golden Globes Awards ceremony on Sunday night via a scooter.

Lear, 95, known for writing The Jeffersons and All in The Family, tweeted a picture of him and Moreno, 85, best known for West Side Story, riding a bright red scooter for two. She currently stars in the Netflix reboot of his hit sitcom One Day at a Time.

“Two for the road. #GoldenGlobes” Lear captioned the photo.

As the legendary duo sped down the red carpet they ran into some hiccups and LA Times’ Jen Yamato captured it all on video. It looks like Lear had some trouble with his gears shifting, but Moreno, in a chic leather ensemble, seemed to enjoy the snafu, laughing off the minor incident.

This is how Hollywood icons do it. Take notes.
