Sarah Hyland is the queen — the Seelie Queen, that is.
During the Shadowhunters panel at San Diego Comic-Con Thursday, Freeform revealed the identity of Sarah Hyland’s character for her previously announced guest arc. Hyland will portray a new iteration of the devious Seelie Queen in the Aug. 7 and 14 episodes of the series.
The Seelie Queen, more formally known as the Queen of the Seelie Court, is a faerie queen who has previously wreaked havoc on the lives of the Shadowhunters, throwing a wrench into the Jace-Clary-Simon love triangle.
Here, she returns in a different form (as played by Hyland), and in an exclusive clip that premiered at the panel, Simon rejects her invitation to visit her court. Freeform also shared a first look image of Hyland’s red-wigged faerie look.

Considering the Seelie Queen previously got involved in the show’s primary love triangle, it’s likely we’ll see Hyland share screen time with her real-life boyfriend Dominic Sherwood, who stars as Jace in the series.
