Bones at Comic-Con: EP reveals how long Zack will be on the final season

Plus: Cam will finally get married!

As of Thursday’s game-changing season finale, Zack Addy (Eric Millegan) is back on Bones. So how are his former coworkers going to handle Zack’s possible turn to the dark side?

“There’s a rainbow of emotions,” star Emily Deschanel tells EW.

“I’m the orange,” jokes costar David Boreanaz.

Deschanel and Boreanaz joined cast members Tamara Taylor, Michaela Conlin, T.J. Thyne, and John Boyd, along with executive producers Michael Peterson and Jonathan Collier, in the EW lounge at San Diego Comic-Con to break down the big twist, which might not be completely wrapped up by the end of the season 12 premiere. Peterson promises Zack will appear in “probably about three to four episodes” of the season.

“You got what you wished for,” Peterson says to the fans who were calling for Zack’s return. “Maybe not the way you wanted it.”

The cast also teased an upcoming wedding for Cam (Taylor), who proposed to Arastoo (Pej Vahdat) toward the end of season 11. After so many years, Bones has already seen its share of unusual weddings, but Boreanaz has an idea for how to keep things fresh — and on brand for the show.

“Maybe someone gets killed at the wedding,” he suggests. Check out the video above.
