Chasing Hillary memoir will detail 10 years of reporting on Hillary Clinton

This April, Harper will publish Chasing Hillary, a new political memoir from New York Times writer-at-large Amy Chozick, EW can confirm exclusively. The book will provide a remarkably intimate and deeply personal portrait of Hillary Clinton as she withstood two dramatic losses for the presidency.

Chozick’s book is the result of a decade’s worth of reporting on the former U.S. Secretary of State. Chozick’s front-row seat to Clinton’s presidential campaign implosion in 2008 led to her getting assigned the “Hillary Beat” through to 2016, when she’d once again face a painful defeat, this time in the general election to Donald Trump. Through her experiences, from sitting on the Clinton campaign bus to working inside the campaign’s Brooklyn headquarters to her run-ins with Trump, Chozick offers new insights into the story we thought we all knew. The author provides the juicy insider details as only a reporter with her kind of intimate, sustained access could gather.

All the while, Chozick explores how she came of age, aging out of her 20s and into her 30s, while covering Clinton, and what that kind of intertwined experience of growth revealed to her about Clinton — and about herself. Overall, the book promises to read like a rapidly paced political novel, a memoir converging with one of the most controversial and notable political figures of our time.
