Over the course of 12 seasons, the Jeffersonian has seen its share of crazy events, but a photo courtesy of Bones star David Boreanaz hints that the lab might not be left standing by the end of the series.

On Monday, the actor, who portrays FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth, shared a picture on Twitter of himself standing in the ashes of what was once the Fox series’ main location.

“At the helm,” he wrote. “Gonna be a Great goodbye to all the fans who have supported us for 12 seasons.”

Later, Boreanaz posted a behind-the-scenes image from the seemingly destroyed lab, where off-camera, he’s all smiles with long-time costar Michaela Conlin, despite being covered in blood and ash.

If the Jeffersonian Lab is truly destroyed, then it would fulfill a wish for the actor, who in 2012, said he would like to destroy it with a tank when the series ended.

Ending is exactly what the series is doing. After 12 seasons, 246 episodes, and surely millions of bones, the series is shooting the final episode this week, with the last season set to premiere on Jan. 3.
