Lin-Manuel Miranda is watching Gilmore Girls

Turns out the Schuyler Sisters and the Gilmore Girls are a match made in Stars Hollow.

Hamilton mastermind Lin-Manuel Miranda didn’t watch the popular WB show when it aired in the 2000s. Now, nearly a week after the release of Netflix’s four-part revival, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, Miranda says he’s a convert.

“So I’m watching my first episode of Gilmore Girls ever. *dodges garbage*” he tweeted. “I MISSED IT THE FIRST TIME AROUND! (it is AWESOME).” Miranda also revealed his wife, Vanessa Nadal, grew up watching Lorelai and Rory and harbors many nostalgic feelings about the show.

“@VAMNit grew up watching this show and watching her watch the pilot is EVERYTHING. You shoulda heard her scream ‘DEAN!!!!'” he added. “Baby Dean went on a whole soliloquy about how intensely Rory reads and @VAMNit just threw up her hands with glee and went ‘I MEAN!'”

The Gilmore Girls‘ official Twitter account responded, “Welcome to Stars Hollow! Kirk has been trying to get up with you for months. He’ll be so pleased.”
