Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life: Where the characters are now

In 2016, Netflix released Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, the four-part revival of the beloved dramedy. Set nearly 10 years after the finale of the original series aired on The CW, the episodes give fans a chance to find out what's been going on in the world of mother-daughter duo Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel), and that includes everyone in Stars Hallow and beyond who has touched their lives. Read on for a refresher of where we find many of the personalities you've grown to love.

Episode 1, "Winter"

• Lorelai is still in charge of the Dragonfly Inn, still with Luke (Scott Patterson), and still able to smell snow and subsist on coffee alone.
• Rory has left Brooklyn to live a "rootless life" (one that gets compared to Llewyn Davis later in this first episode). A freelance journalist, Rory was published by the New Yorker (a Talk of the Town piece that "super-proud Luke" just loves) and is working on a book that takes her to London. She also has a boyfriend named Paul, who everyone forgets exists.
• Luke is still running Luke's Diner and really hates to give out the Wi-Fi password.
• Emily (Kelly Bishop) is mourning the death of her husband, Richard (the late Edward Herrmann), and trying to Kondo her life.
• Michel (Yanic Truesdale) is married to a man named Frederick, who wants children.
• Kirk (Sean Gunn) has started a car service named ööö-ber. (Get it?)
• Taylor Doose (Michael Winters) is campaigning for the town to get on a sewer system, naturally.
• True to form, Gypsy (Rose Abdoo) is still fixing cars and tells Lorelai she needs to get a new one.
• Jason (Chris Eigeman), a.k.a. Lorelai's ex, attends her father Richard's funeral.
• Miss Patty (Liz Torres) hasn't skipped a beat, as she's still teaching dance classes.
• Paris Geller (Liza Weil) runs a surrogacy and fertility clinic called Dynasty Makers (Neil Patrick Harris is a client).
• Logan (Matt Czuchry) is living in London, engaged to be married, and also having an affair with Rory.
• Lane Kim (Keiko Agena) is still married to Zack (Todd Lowe) and living in Stars Hollow, where she raises twins and plays drums in Hep Alien.

Episode 2, "Spring"

• Mrs. Kim (Emily Kuroda) leads a pack of choir singers, whom she calls "fresh off the boat," at the Stars Hollow International Spring Food Festival. "I'm getting ready for the circuit," she says. When Rory compliments the group, she says, in complete Mama Kim-style, "Please, they suck eggs." Mr. Kim is also there, just waving from afar. Yes, questions about his existence can now be put to rest.
• Although there's still no sign of Sookie (Melissa McCarthy) in "Spring," we see Jackson Belleville (Jackson Douglas) running the vegetable stand at the festival. He says Sookie is still being a badass over at Dan Barber's famed Blue Hill Farm.
• We don't actually see Liz Danes (Kathleen Wilhoite) and T.J. (Michael DeLuise), Luke's sister and her husband, but Luke relays their update: They accidentally joined a vegetable cult, thinking it was a co-op.
• Caesar (Aris Alvarado) is still working at Luke's, toasting bread, serving pancakes, and cleaning tables. But when Emily and Ida (Kelly Wolf) barge in and suggest Luke needs to franchise, Ida jokes that he needs "more Caesars" to help run the different locations if he wants the idea to work. (Spoiler: he doesn't.)
• Babette Dell (Sally Struthers) is back at the first town hall, though she almost spills the beans about Stars Hollow's secret bar. Wait, what?!
• Emily Bergl reprises her role as Paris and Rory's frenemy from Chilton, Francie Jarvis. Yes, she's still a Puff, and yes, she still rubs that fact in Paris' face.
• Headmaster Charleston (Dakin Matthews), Chilton's top prof, is still behind that big desk. After Paris and Rory walk down memory lane at their old stomping grounds, he offers Rory a job. She politely declines.
• Paris married Doyle (Danny Strong), her Yale rival-turned-lover, and had two children with him before he decided to follow his dream of faded jeans and $200 band shirts to Los Angeles to be a screenwriter. They're currently going through a divorce.
• Tristan is back! It's just for a split second, and he's not played by Chad Michael Murray here, but rather Anton Narinskiy. Paris spots her old crush in the hallway at Chilton before breaking down in the bathroom, proclaiming, "I'm still in love with Tristan!"

Episode 3, "Summer"

• April Nardini (Vanessa Marano) graduated from MIT and says she's taking the summer before graduate school to travel with friends, who are visiting states to canvas for pot legalization. "It's about civil liberties," she argues, telling her dad she doesn't smoke pot. (Lies—she did it once and ate "so much cheese after.")
• Sophie (Carole King) is part of the Stars Hollow: The Musical's advisory committee and offers the production a song she wrote that's never been heard before. (It's "I Feel the Earth Move." Taylor says it's not catchy enough.)
• Jess (Milo Ventimiglia) returns to help Luke deal with his mom and T.J. with the vegetable cult. He's still running the book press and not dating anyone seriously. He suggests Rory write a book about her and her mom.

Episode 4, "Fall"

• Christopher Hayden (David Sutcliffe) is working for his family's company. He's with a woman named Lana, while his daughter Gigi is in Paris.
• Miss Celine (Alex Borstein) is still working as a personal stylist. Lorelai hires her for the wedding.
• Dean (Jared Padalecki) is married with three sons and a daughter on the way. His wife's name is Jenny, Rory reveals.
• Sookie comes back after two years to make Lorelai's wedding cakes. She was on sabbatical at Blue Hill Farm, trying to discover new food-growing techniques.
• Reverend Archie Skinner (Jim Jansen) is still at it. He returns to marry Luke and Lorelai.
