Gilmore Girls: The Final Four Words Are...

So, now we know. Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino came up with the final four words of the series back in season 1, and in the final episode of the Netflix revival, they were revealed.

The morning after Luke and Lorelai tied the knot in the Stars Hollow gazebo, Rory and Lorelai sat alone on the steps of said gazebo to talk about what comes next. And just as Lorelai was assuring Rory that she too will find a good man one day, we get the final exchange:

Rory: "Mom?"

Lorelai: "Yeah?"

Rory: "I'm pregnant."

Although some fans may hate the cliffhanger, there's also an argument to be made that it's not too much of a twist. Given the mother-daughter themes of the show — not to mention the multiple mentions of things coming "full circle" in the revival episodes — we're essentially right back where we started, but only with a different Gilmore this time. Rory is pregnant with what is seemingly Logan's baby, and Logan is the man Sherman-Palladino called Rory's version of Christopher. And as for whom Rory ends up with, that's left open to interpretation too — though it will not be lost on some fans that Jess is clearly still in love with her. So, could Rory follow in her mother's footsteps and end up with her Luke, a.k.a. Jess?

We might never know. But what we do know is that there's about to be another Gilmore in the world, and what could be bad about that?
