Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life

The ladies of Stars Hollow are back for more in this heartwarming Netflix revival, which sees the return of creator Amy Sherman-Palladino after her sudden departure following the drama’s sixth season finale in 2006. Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel reprise their roles as Lorelai and Rory, respectively, along with a score of familiar faces, including Melissa McCarthy, Milo Ventimiglia, Scott Patterson, Keiko Agena, and Kelly Bishop.

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life premieres Friday, Nov. 25 on Netflix.

Allied

Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard team up for the first time in Robert Zemeckis’ thrilling period drama Allied. The film sees the Oscar winners portraying a pair of WWII-era operatives — Max, a Canadian intelligence officer, and Marianne, a French resistance fighter — who fall in love while on a deadly mission in Northern Africa. They eventually marry in London, though Marianne’s loyalties to Max come under scrutiny as his military superiors suspect she is a Nazi spy. The film has thus far received decent reviews from critics, particularly EW’s Chris Nashawaty, who calls the film’s leads “smart” and “smoldering” in his B+ review.

Allied is now playing in theaters nationwide.

Pokémon Sun and Moon

Over 20 years after the popular game series first launched, Pokémon hits the Nintendo 3DS once again with some of its freshest titles to date: Sun and Moon. With new locations (the ocean-heavy Alola region looks gorgeous), new Pokémon, and the reintroduction of Mega Evolution, both Sun and Moon boast playable adventures die-hard fans and newcomers alike can’t afford to miss.

Former SNL star Seth Meyers has finally hit his stride as a late-night talk show host nearly two years after he took over the program from Jimmy Fallon. Meyers served as an essential voice in the 2016 election, and the country will look to him (alongside the likes of Samantha Bee and John Oliver) as one of several key commentators during Donald Trump’s administration.
