Insecure: Broken P---- rap haunts Issa in clip

“Broken P—-” has gone viral — and Issa is going into damage control.

In an exclusive clip from Sunday’s episode of Insecure, Issa (Issa Rae) is just trying to do her job while visiting a classroom when a schoolgirl pulls up her phone. “Hey Ms. Issa — look what I made,” she says, displaying a meme of Kim Kardashian crying. The text: “BROKEN P—-. MAYBE IT’S HAD ENOUGH.”

That’s right: As teased in last week’s comedic cliffhanger, a recording of Issa’s impromptu rap about major love life problems has made its way onto the internet, and the catchy tune is so popular that even kids in schools are performing it with each other.

That might not bode well for a young professional who works for a non-profit that helps disadvantaged youth, and the look on Issa’s face foreshadows an impending crisis. “I am so sorry,” she tells the girl’s concerned teacher, not yet realizing that a hit song might actually be the best thing that’s ever happened to her. “I didn’t even know it was out there.”

The teacher tries to respond, only for the kids to bust our even more “Broken P—-” lyrics.

Watch the awkward moment above, and prepare to see the full fallout on HBO Sunday at 10:30 p.m. ET.
