If fans of Twin Peaks can’t wait to return to their favorite Pacific Northwest town, imagine how the members of the show’s original cast must feel — especially the man behind Agent Dale Cooper himself.

Well, wonder no more! In a new video, above, Cooper’s portrayer Kyle MacLachlan talks about what it’s like to return to the role he originated after 25 years.

“Revisiting all this territory, there’s a freshness to it,” says the actor. “There’s nothing I can say to describe it. It’s been absolutely wonderful.”

But the man behind everyone’s favorite coffee connoisseur isn’t the only one excited to take part in the Showtime limited series. Newer members of the much larger cast are also thrilled, though they can’t really tease much about what fans can expect when the cult classic returns.

“There are so many surprises in the show,” hints Robert Knepper.

Miguel Ferrer, who’ll once again play Cooper’s colleague Agent Albert Rosenfield, adds: “[It’s] a big story. Big things happen.”

Twin Peaks returns in 2017 on Showtime.
