The Monster trailer: After a car accident, a mother and daughter are hunted

The trailer for The Monster was released Thursday, and it’s seriously scary.

The film is about a divorced mom (Zoe Kazan) and her daughter (Ella Ballentine) who get into a car accident while driving on remote county roads on a rainy night. While they wait for help, they realize that a monster is hunting them. In the trailer, we get a look at the reason for the collision: their car hits what appears to be a wolf. We also get a horrifying glimpse of the titular monster. The film is written and directed by Bryan Bertino (The Strangers), and Scott Speedman also stars.

The movie will be available to watch exclusively on DirecTV on Oct. 6 and will be released in theaters and on demand on Nov. 11.
