Renee Zellweger on whether Bridget Jones ends up with the right man

In Bridget Jones’s Baby, Renee Zellweger’s hapless British heroine finds herself wooed by two knights in shining armor, either of whom could be the father of her new baby-to-be.

And despite — or perhaps because of — the considerable charms of both longtime beau Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) and new flame Jack Qwant (Patrick Dempsey), the love triangle puts Bridget in a serious dilemma.

During a recent town hall with EW editor-in-chief Henry Goldblatt on SiriusXM Radio, costars Zellweger and Dempsey weighed in (spoiler free) on whether they think Bridget ends up with the right man.

Speaking first, Zellwegger cleared her throat and played coy. “Goodness, that’s a good question,” she said. “I don’t know, possibly. I mean, I guess we all have to wait and see, don’t we?”

Dempsey was initially more direct, stating, “I think so.” But when prodded by Zellweger, he laughed and added, “I might have given something away there. Maybe I did, maybe I didn’t.”

The two also took turns describing the film’s ending in three words, which you can hear in the excerpt below. Bridget Jones’s Baby opens Friday.
