Who’s that girl behind the camera? It’s Zooey Deschanel!

The actress, who stars as Jess on New Girl, will make her directorial debut with the comedy’s season 6 premiere, EW has learned. Titled “House Hunt,” the episode will pick up three months after the season 5 finale, which saw Jess and Nick (Jake Johnson) part ways, Cece (Hannah Simone) and Schmidt (Max Greenfield) get married, and Winston (Lamorne Morris) carry out his best prank yet when he followed Cece and Schmidt all the way to the beach on their honeymoon, scaring them just as they settled in.

Since then, Jess has been distracting herself from her renewed romantic feelings for Nick by throwing herself into new hobbies while he’s been away in New Orleans with Reagan (Megan Fox, who’s set to return later in season 6). At the same time, Winston attempts to keep up his long-distance relationship with Aly (Nasim Pedrad), and newlyweds Cece and Schmidt go house hunting — the plot thread that inspired the episode title.

The cast had their first table read Monday afternoon for the season 6 premiere, and the exclusive photo of Deschanel’s new and improved name plate for the episode and the cover of the script can be seen below:
