This Is Us: Castle alum Jon Huertas joins the NBC drama

Jon Huertas will be palling around with Milo Ventimiglia on This Is Us.

The Castle alum has landed a recurring gig on NBC’s dramedy about the connections between a collection of people who share the same birthday, EW has confirmed. He will pop up in the role of Mike, who is the co-worker/best friend of Jack (Ventimiglia).

Huertas’ TV credits also include Generation Kill, Prison Break, CSI, and The Shield.

This Is Us, which heads into the fall season as one of the buzziest new series, will debut on Sept. 20. Mandy Moore and Sterling K. Brown also star in the show, which comes from Dan Fogelman, Glenn Ficarra, and John Requa, a.k.a. the creative team behind Crazy, Stupid, Love. (which celebrates the fifth anniversary of its release today — more on that here).
