Wesley Snipes wants to bring his DaywaIker back into the light.

The actor took to Twitter on Tuesday to tease the possibility of a fourth film based on Blade, the vampire superhero Marvel comics character Snipes brought to the big screen in 1998’s Blade and its two sequels. “When it comes to another BLADE, there’s alway was a possibility,” he wrote, adding the hashtag #SharpeningMyTeeth. “Ball’s in Marvel’s court.”

The original films were distributed by New Line Cinema, but in 2011 the rights to the character returned to Marvel. In recent years, there have been rumors of a new Blade script and Snipes has previously said that he has had discussions with the company behind The Avengers.

The Blade film series, based on the comics by Marv Wolfman and Gene Colan, follows a human-vampire hybrid who protects humans from other vampires. Over the years, the films, which grossed over $400 million worldwide, have developed a strong cult following.

The last film Blade: Trinity was released in 2004 and costarred Ryan Reynolds and Jessica Biel. All three movies were written by David S. Goyer — the writer behind DC’s Christopher Nolan Batman films and the recent Zack Snyder Superman projects.

Snipes, who did not act for years due to a prison sentence for tax evasion, most recently starred in the short-lived NBC series The Player and Spike Lee’s Chi-raq.
