Kristen Stewart has battled her fair share of monstrous entities throughout her film career, and the new trailer for her Cannes competition film Personal Shopper is once again reuniting the Twilight star with the realm of the supernatural.

Personal Shopper tells the story of an American celebrity fashion assistant and personal shopper, Maureen (Stewart), who attempts to communicate with the ghost of her recently deceased twin brother. In the trailer, Stewart questions her life decisions (“I’m a personal shopper, I hate this job … I spend my days doing bulls— that doesn’t interest me, and it keeps me from what does. It’s driving me f—ing crazy,” she says), coaxes her brother’s presence to send her a sign from beyond, and receives a series of nefarious texts from an unknown phone number.

The film recentlyscreened in competition at the Cannes Film Festival, where it received generally positive reviews despite a few boos during its press screening. Stewart and director Olivier Assayas addressed the film’s polarized reception at Cannes on Tuesday: Per The Hollywood Reporter, Assayas said: “It happens to me once in a while, where people just don’t get the ending … For me, it’s the closest I can get to a happy ending. I’m sorry I can’t get much further.” Stewart added: “Everybody did not boo. Let’s be clear.”

The pair previously collaborated on the 2014’s Clouds of Sils Maria, which also starred French actress Juliette Binoche and received a sustained standing ovation at its Cannes premiere two years ago. Stewart went on to receive numerous awards for her performance in the movie and became the first American woman to win the César Award for Best Supporting Actress at the French equivalent to the Oscars.

IFC Films will distribute Personal Shopper, though a release date has not been confirmed. Check out the film’s theatrical poster below, and watch the first trailer above.
