Suicide Squad doesn’t open until Aug. 5, but Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn has already landed her own spin-off.

EW has confirmed that DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. are considering a spin-off movie featuring Robbie’s baseball bat-wielding villain — to be produced by Robbie herself.

Plot and character details are being kept tightly under wraps, but the untitled spin-off wouldn’t focus on Quinn alone. Instead, Robbie would star alongside multiple female DC villains and heroes. Warner Bros. declined to comment.

According to a source, it was Robbie who actually launched the project. After working on David Ayer’s upcoming Suicide Squad movie, the actress became fascinated by DC Comics’ pantheon of female characters, recruiting a female writer to help develop the project for Warner Bros.

Robbie stars in Suicide Squad alongside Cara Delevingne (Enchantress), Jared Leto (The Joker), Will Smith (Deadshot), Jai Courney (Captain Boomerang), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Killer Croc), and Karen Fukuhara (Katana). She also stars opposite Alexander Skarsgard in this summer’s Legend of Tarzan.

The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news.
