Kesha took the stage at Saturday night’s Humane Society Gala Ball to sing “Til It Happens to You,” the Oscar-nominated song Lady Gaga wrote with Diane Warren for campus rape documentary The Hunting Ground — and she got a stamp of approval from Gaga herself.

“Killed it @KeshaRose,” Gaga tweeted Sunday. “I could feel your pain. Girl these boys won’t be in charge forever. The wisdom of women is rising. Let’s get louder.”

Kesha has been involved in an ongoing legal battle with producer Dr. Luke, whom she accused of sexual and verbal abuse (claims Dr. Luke has denied both in court and on social media). In April, most of Kesha’s claims were thrown out by a New York State Supreme Court judge. Throughout the back-and-forth legal strife, Kesha has received support from a number of high profile celebrities, including Gaga.

“I think that people should just know that there’s so much more than what meets the eye in a case like that,” Gaga told Carson Daly in March.

“I feel like she’s being very publicly shamed for something that happens in the music industry all the time, to women and men,” Gaga, who said she was raped at age 19, continued. “I just want to stand by her side because I can’t watch another woman that went through what I’ve been through suffer.”

Kesha thanked Gaga and other supporters in an April 29 Instagram post, where she said she’s “never been so full of gratitude in my entire life.”

“You have fought for me for no reason and you have successfully changed my life,” she wrote. “YOU have been there for me through a time I thought, at many different times, I couldn’t live through. I couldn’t fathom being on the other side. And here we are. Thanks to YOU.”

Although Kesha is still in a contract with Dr. Luke’s Kemosabe Records, she recently released “True Colors” with Zedd (with permission from Kemosabe), and is set to play at this summer’s Mad Decent Block Party.
