The doctor is in. English actor Hugh Dancy has been cast as John Flynn, the psychiatrist to kinky billionaire Christian Grey, in Fifty Shades Darker, EW has confirmed.

The Hannibal and Elizabeth I star joins a cast headlined by Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, reprising their roles as Grey and his fresh-faced mistress Anastasia Steele from Fifty Shades of Grey. Also on board for the Universal sequel are Kim Basinger, Bella Heathcote, Eric Johnson, and Tyler Hoechlin.

James Foley is taking the helm after Sam Taylor-Johnson directed the first of three planned films based on author E.L. James’ erotic novels. Foley will also direct the final installment, Fifty Shades Freed, and the plan is to shoot the films back-to-back. Niall Leonard, who is James’ husband, adapted the screenplays for Darker and Freed.

Dancy can currently be seen on the Hulu drama The Path opposite Aaron Paul and Michelle Monaghan.

Fifty Shades Darker is scheduled for release Feb. 10, 2017, and with Fifty Shades Freed to follow a year later.

Dancy’s casting was first reported by the Hollywood Reporter.
